BREAKING: APC governors meet Wike in Port Harcourt

The end may not yet be in sight on the crisis rocking the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the aftermath of the party’s presidential primary.

Although Governor Nyesom Wike has said that he is not planning to dump the party, there are feelers that the ruling All Progressives Congress may be bent on winning him over to the party.

Key APC governors are in Port Harcourt to meet with the governor.

Three Governors of the All Progressives Congress on Friday arrived at the private residence of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for a closed-door meeting.

The Governors are Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, and Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State.

Also present at the meeting is former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.

The details of the closed-door meeting are not yet known but it may not be unconnected with the 2023 presidential election.

Wike had been in Turkey for holiday and there were reports that he was billed to meet with the presidential candidate of the APC, Ahmed Tinubu but this was eventually denied.  While in Turkey,  governors of the PDP led by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde met with the Rivers State governor.
