Gunmen have abducted members of the household of popular Yoruba rights activist Sunday “Igboho” Adeyemo after attacking his house in the early hours of Thursday. Among those abducted was Igboho’s wife.

This was disclosed by Banji Akintoye, leader of the Ilana Omo Oodua group, a coalition of Yoruba secessionist groups.

According to a statement released by Akintoye’s Communications Manager, Maxwell Adeleye, the gunmen, dressed in military regalia, carted away with Igboho’s wife and several others after killing seven other occupants of the home.
