BREAKING: Former Nigerian Governor Is Dead (PHOTO)

Commodore Dan Suleiman, one of the founders of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), has died.

Suleiman, a former Plateau State military governor and member of General Murtala Mohammed’s Supreme Military Council, died on Wednesday at the age of 81.

Suleiman served as federal commissioner for Special Duties in the General Yakubu Gowon administration and is credited with helping to establish the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Ayo Opadokun, General Secretary of NADECO, announced Suleiman’s death in a press statement on Wednesday.

Opadokun stated that the current President of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Dr Bitrus Porgu, informed him of Suleiman’s death.

According to Opadokun’s statement, the late Suleiman was “consistently courageous, nationalistic, genuinely patriotic, whose life and times were rich for good purposes and services to God and humanity.”
