JAMB fixes cut-off mark for admission into universities, others
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed the cut-off marks for admission into Nigeria’s universities, polytechnics and colleges of education for the 2020/2021 academic session.
At the JAMB policy meeting held today with university vice chancellors, rectors, provosts and admission officers from higher institutions across the country, the cut off mark for admission into universities was fixed at 160, polytechnics-120 and colleges of education-100.
It was learnt that some universities at the meeting held virtually, however, insisted on using their own institutions’ cut-off marks. The Pan Atlantic University, for instance, insisted on retaining its 220 cut off mark for admission.

Also at the policy meeting, which signals the commencement of admission process for the 2020/2021 academic session, the board announced the exemption of some categories of students from post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) screening. These categories include foreign students and candidates in Nigeria’s correctional homes.
