The Oyo State Government has rescheduled the teachers’ recruitment interview from August 20 to August 26 to avoid a clash with Isese Day, a public holiday in the state.
The interview session, initially slated for August 20, was postponed to August 26 to respect the cultural significance of Isese Day, which honors Yoruba culture and traditions. The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, announced the rescheduling in a statement, emphasizing the importance of respecting cultural practices and ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates.
“In light of this observation, the affected LGAs whose interviews were originally slated for Tuesday, August 20, 2024, have been rescheduled to Monday, August 26, 2024,” Adeniran stated.
The affected local government areas include Saki West, Saki East, Irepo, Oriire, Olorunsogo, Orelope, Ogbomoso North, and Ogbomoso South.
The Board’s decision has received widespread approval from stakeholders, who appreciate the sensitivity and responsiveness demonstrated by the educational authorities.
