The House of Representatives has summoned Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, over the suspension of Twitter in Nigeria.
Recall that the minister, last week, announced the suspension of the microblogging platform’s operations in Nigeria after the platform deleted a controversial civil war post by President Muhammadu Buhari, threatening violence against separatist agitators.
At its sitting on Tuesday, the House mandated its committees on communication, justice, information and culture, and national security and intelligence to immediately commence an investigation into the suspension of the microblogging site.
