The Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar, on Friday, July 30, sacked Stephen Odey, a Senator representing Cross River North, just as it declared Mr Agom as the lawful PDP candidate in the Cross River North Senatorial District by-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Justice Chioma Iheme Nwosu of the Appeal Court, in her judgment on Friday, said that Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe was nominated as the candidate of the party, PDP, based on the ruling of the Abuja High Court which judgement was upheld by the Supreme Court.

The Judge also invalidated the certificate of return earlier issued to Stephen Odey by INEC, directing the commission to withdraw the certificate with immediate effect and give it to Agom.
