A Presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP) and Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal has stepped down for his fellow contestant, Atiku Abubakar at the ongoing convention in Abuja.
Tambuwal came up to the common centre and announced his support for the former Vice President of Nigeria.

Earlier, a United States-based medical doctor and one of the 14 presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Nwachukwu Anakwenze, had withdrawn from the race.
He has also directed all delegates supporting his ambition to transfer their votes to Governor Nyesom Wike who is also gunning for the presidential ticket of the main opposition party.
