Amina Hassan, a 20-year-old bride from Adamawa State’s Mubi North Local Government Area, has been detained for allegedly setting fire to her husband’s freshly built house.
According to reports, Amina’s behavior was prompted by her husband’s refusal to grant her a divorce.
The deal was reported to have been reached before the couple married.
According to accounts, Amina notified her parents a few days before the wedding that she was no longer interested in the marriage.

They demanded, however, that the wedding proceed because invitation cards had already been delivered.
Following the wedding, she sought the assistance of a native doctor in order to make her husband despise her and grant her a divorce.

According to reports, the native doctor performed a ritual and was paid N12,000 for his services.
However, the rite ended in turning Amina’s heart away from her husband rather than toward him.
The suspect confessed to the act after being captured by the Adamawa State Police Command.
According to this newspaper, the situation is currently being probed as directed by the Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, spokesman for the Police Command, cited Amina on Tuesday as stating, “We made an arrangement that he will divorce me after the marriage.” I met with him and begged him to divorce me, but he refused.”
