General Mustapha emphasized the seriousness of the situation, noting that the initial peaceful protests had been hijacked by criminals, leading to widespread looting and chaos. He stated, “We wanted to brief Mr. President on the situation on the ground. Initially, the protests were peaceful, but it is clear that some individuals are taking advantage of the situation to cause mayhem.”

General Mustapha also addressed the issue of coups, affirming Nigeria’s commitment to democracy. “Nigeria is a sovereign nation and a democratic nation. All security agencies are here to defend democracy and ensure it continues to thrive. We will not accept any actions aimed at changing the government through undemocratic means.”

He highlighted that many of those involved in flying foreign flags were young individuals being manipulated by others. The authorities have identified those behind these actions and are preparing to take serious measures against them. “We are following up with those sponsoring and pushing these individuals. The President is clear in his instructions to us not to accept any disruptions to the peace and tranquility of Nigeria.”

In conclusion, General Mustapha assured Nigerians that the security agencies are working together to maintain peace and stability. “The military will step in when necessary. For those supervising individuals to carry Russian flags in Nigeria, that is crossing the red line. Those responsible will face prosecution.”

General Mustapha’s firm stance underscores the Nigerian government’s commitment to upholding its sovereignty and ensuring the rule of law.
