The Niger State Police Command has apprehended a 17-year-old boy, Wisdom Danjuma, for allegedly robbing a Point of Sale (POS) attendant in Minna.
According to SP Wasiu Abiodun, police spokesperson, the incident occurred on September 13, 2024, at Lawu Estate, Bosso Low-Cost area. Danjuma allegedly entered the POS shop, threatened the attendant with a long sharp knife, and made off with N100,000.
Following a distress call, police operatives and community members collaborated to apprehend Danjuma. Preliminary investigations revealed that Danjuma confessed to the crime, stating he was sent by two other gang members.
The police recovered the knife and stolen funds from Danjuma. An investigation is ongoing to apprehend the remaining gang members.
