College admin officer detained for raping student

Men from the Ogun State police command have arrested an administrative staff member of the College of Health Technology in Ilese Ijebu, Olawale Jamiu, for having unlawful carnal knowledge of a student at the college (name withheld).

The 39-year-old worker was detained, according to the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, following a report filed by the college’s management at the Ilese Ijebu divisional headquarters.

They said the woman was raped while going to the suspect’s office to pick up her school paperwork. When the suspect arrived, he dragged the victim into the file room and forcefully had sex with her.

The girl subsequently reported the assault to her guardian, who then informed the school’s authorities. “Upon receiving the information, DPO Ilese division CSP Amuda Ajibola dispatched his detectives to the institution, where the culprit was soon detained.

When faced with the remorseful note he sent to the victim after his diabolical act, the suspect, who had initially disputed the charge, was taken aback.

The victim was brought to the state hospital in Ijebu Ode for treatment,” Oyeyemi added.

The state commissioner of police, PC Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the suspect’s immediate transfer to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department’s anti-human trafficking and child labour section for further investigation and diligent prosecution, according to the spokesman.
