I Go Save, the Nigerian comedian, says Asake, the singer, donated N5m to Helen Otabhor.
Otabhor is the policewoman in a video that went viral from her altercation with a purported traffic offender.
She became a sensation in May 2022 after a video of her crying for help as a commuter drove off with her.
The video, with the now-famous catchphrase “epp me epp me”, was widely shared and sparked outrage.

Asake sampled Otabhor’s voice in the hit track “Peace Be Unto You” which was released in July 2022.
However, the policewoman recently made a video soliciting financial support.

It was said that she was hit by a vehicle while controlling the traffic in Edo state.
I Go Save shared Otabhor’s video and called on entertainers who had profited from her voice to help her.
He also promised to donate N500,000 to the policewoman.
Otabhor’s situation prompted reactions on X, with several users advocating for her to receive royalties from Asake.
“Her voice was in Asake’s song abi? time to pay royalties. Same for all who used her to gain in the industry,” a user wrote.
“Thought about it before this incident. She needs her credit. Asake where you at? Pay her royalties,” another user wrote.
On Friday, I Go Save announced that Asake had allegedly given Utabor N5 million.
He also shared a receipt of the payment online.
The comedian added that Otabhor is responding to treatment but has not yet received assistance from the police.
