Chelsea and Arsenal clashed at Stamford Bridge in a London derby crucial to both sides.

Chelsea entered the game hoping to take back their third spot on the table having dropped to 4th place following Leicester city’s win over Manchester united on Tuesday. Arsenal on the other hand were looking to keep alive their hopes of finishing within an Eroupa league position on the table.

The game began with Arsenal’s seeing a lion share of the possession in the opening 10 minutes of the game. The blues would however miss a huge chance to go front with Kai Havertz missing a clear cut 1vs1 opportunity with Leno after a mistake from Pablo Mari sent him clear on goal.

That miss would come to hunt the blues when Arsenal took the lead after a Jorginho sent a terrible back pass with Pierre Aubameyang taking advantage and feeding Emile Smith Rowe who wouldn’t fail to score from 5 yards out as the Gunners led at halftime.

Chelsea were always going to pile the pressure on Arsenal in the second half as they went in search of an equalizing goal.

The Gunners would however stay grounded at the back as they had an answer for everything Thomas Tuchel men threw at them. Kurt Zouma and Oliver Giroud went close to bringing the home side level, but they were denied by Bernd Leno and the crossbar as the Gunners secured a win against their London rivals.
