Dangote Bags Senegal’s Top Honour, Tinubu Hails Businessman’s Ingenuity

President Bola Tinubu today congratulated Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Group, on receiving Senegal’s highest national honour, the Order of the Lion.

 

The award, to be bestowed on Dangote tomorrow, February 2nd, recognizes his outstanding contributions to Senegal’s economy and development. In a statement released by his media aide,  Ajuri Ngelale,t President Tinubu lauded Dangote’s “enterprise and ingenuity,” highlighting the job creation and economic opportunities his businesses have brought to Nigeria, Senegal, and across West Africa.

“This award is a further testament to Mr. Dangote’s remarkable achievements and his positive impact on the region,” President Tinubu said. “His dedication to creating jobs, fostering economic growth, and improving lives is truly commendable.”

Dangote’s Dangote Group is a diversified conglomerate with operations in cement, sugar, flour, and other sectors. The company has been instrumental in Senegal’s infrastructure development, including the construction of a $200 million cement plant.
