Delta Poly Accountant Arrested With Gun, Live Ammunition

A 52-year-old accountant of the Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, Ethiope-West Local Government Area, Chief Oviri Onorigho, was on Friday arrested at his residence by the police.

He was arrested by the Delta State Commissioner of Police Special Team, led by ASP Julius Robinson.

One Baretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition was recovered according to the police.

This was confirmed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe in a statement.

 

He said, “A search warrant was executed in his residence during which one Baretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition was recovered.”

According to SP Edafe, “The suspect was immediately arrested.”

He also said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that he is suspected to be a member of Aiye confraternity.

“The suspect stated that he bought the gun from one Morrison (at large) for N250,000 and that it was for his protection.”

He said the suspect is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
