The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended a former Nigerian soldier, Aliyu Adamu, for defrauding three job seekers of N200,000. Adamu, a dismissed Lance Corporal, had promised to secure Nigerian Army jobs for his victims.
The police spokesperson, SP Ahmed Muhammed Wakil, confirmed the arrest, stating that Adamu’s dismissal from the army was due to a year-long unauthorized absence.
Adamu confessed to using the collected funds for personal purposes. The police are urging caution against fraudulent job schemes and encouraging citizens to report suspicious activities.
The suspect will face charges upon completion of the investigation, demonstrating the police’s commitment to protecting citizens from exploitation.
