Don’t marry by sight, marry by faith- Pastor Folu Adeboye

 Pastor Folu Adeboye,the wife of  the General-Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has warned single women against looking for a life companion on Instagram or social media.

Mrs Adeboye issued the warning while ministering at the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s (RCCG) 25th annual conference on Thursday, August 19.

“Those of us who are not yet married and live in the house, don’t hunt for a husband on Instagram or social media in your new beginning,” she says. Allow God to make the decision for you. When you miss the appropriate person in your marriage, the General Overseer will always tell you that it is the beginning of hell for you.

“Take your time, listen to your God’s voice, and let God guide you to the proper man. Don’t choose based on appearances, or because the man has a nice car or a good job. What will you do if he has a good job today and doesn’t have a nice job tomorrow?

“I met my husband when he was in university, and by God’s grace, he graduated. From there, we began our married life, but at the end of it all, he went to university to study, and we returned to ground zero to be a pastor, a laborer in the vineyard. Nobody, no young lady, will say, “OK, at this point in our marriage, he wants to go back to square one and start over.” But that did happen, and I’m grateful I didn’t marry the wrong person.

“Those of you who have not yet married, learn from Mama Mary, our Lord Jesus Christ’s mother. She asked the angel how this would happen, and she ultimately responded, “according to thy promise.” Let God’s will be done in my life” (Luke 1:38).

“Don’t marry on the basis of appearances; instead, marry on the basis of confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will have a happy marriage.

“Marriage is essential so that we do not fall into the traps of all types of life issues by marrying the wrong person.”
