Police operatives attached to the Jigawa State Police Command have apprehended a Commercial bus driver for staging an armed robbery attack on his passengers.
Franktalknow learnt that the Police Public Relations officer of Jigawa State Police Command, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest of the suspect, whose identity was given as Yahya Muhammad to newsmen in Dutse.
According to the PPRO, the passengers numbering about 6 had boarded the vehicle with reg. no. KNS 572 TRN at NNPC roundabout Kano and were heading to Babaldu village in B/Kudu local Government.
He said that on reaching Tsamiyar Tannaga, a border between Kano and Jigawa State, some unknown persons standing by the roadside waved the driver to stop.

He further said, “the passengers, however, warned the driver not to stop at this ungodly time of the night but the driver ignored them and parked his vehicle.”
“As soon as he parked the car,
unknown Fulani men armed with sticks and cutlasses with their faces covered with masks came out from the bush and robbed them the sum of N195,000.”
“Having suspected the driver of the vehicle to be part of the robbery gang, the passengers reported the matter to the Police, “the PPRO added.
He said that the Police will charge the suspect to court once investigation is completed.
