The Edo State Polytechnic through the Greg Ogbeifun Institute of Maritime Technology (GOMIT) has partnered with the Training Centre for Blue Collar Port Workers in the Port of Antwerp, Belgium, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation on the training of manpower for Nigeria’s maritime sector.

Rector of the polytechnic, Prof. Abiodun Falodun, in a chat with journalists, said the collaboration will ensure that the polytechnic trains world-class seafarers, dockworkers, and other personnel required for a robust maritime sector in Nigeria.

He added that with the support of international partners, certificates and diplomas issued from GOMIT will be recognized globally, which is necessary for international maritime operations.
