What Ifako International Schools are doing in preparation for resumption

What plans are you putting in place to protect students and teachers?

 We have had a Post Covid-19 resumption brainstorming session and reviewed some of the measures that we put in place during the Ebola saga of a few years ago. While awaiting the government guidelines we are putting in place the following:

–  Educating all about Covid-19, especially, mode of transmission and prevention.

  • Increasing the number of hand washing basins at the entrance to each section of the school.
  • Constant sanitising and washing of hands.
  • All staff and children will have their temperature checked before entry.
  • Providing new mackintosh for the clinic mattresses.
  • Providing compact furniture (combined table and chair set) to have some classes outside.
  • Disinfecting desks and other open spaces daily.
  • Keep the physical library locked while investing more in the electronic library for easier disinfecting.
  • Ensuring that all air-conditioning are turned off to ensure fresh air.
  • Maintaining the required social distancing in the compound and classrooms.
  • Reducing the time spent at school.
  • No visitors allowed into the school premises – relying more on telephones.
  • Have posters all over the school on measures to avoid the coronavirus infection.

Based on government guidelines, we may have staggered:

  • School shifts: morning and afternoon / two days some three days.
  • Arrivals and departure.

What plans are you putting in place for teachers to ensure they are safe and healthy?

.Get a professional to tell us more about the Covid-19 before resumption.

  • Provide the recommended PPE.
  • Review the group life insurance scheme and explore other relevant schemes.

 

How do you intend to monitor teacherscontact after school?

 We will address all members of staff on the danger of Covid-19 and pray they stay in line. They won’t want their families infected.

What are the plans you are making to take care of any student or staff infected  with COVID-19?

We will follow the NCDC guidelines.

What plans do you have for doors and handles? Are you going to do anything to reduce touch?

Doors and windows will remain permanently open for full ventilation.

Cleaners will clean at intervals with constant monitoring.

Constant washing and sanitising of hands by all will reduce possibility of infection.

Will children still be playing outdoors?

 Playgrounds will be out of bounds for now.

Any  installation of hand sanitiser dispenser or washing basins?

 Yes we plan to increase the number of hand washing basins at the entrance to each section of the school.

Any plan to have face masks in store?

 Yes.
