Ex-Federal Lawmaker, Adaranijo, Constructs Classrooms for Two Schools in Lagos

A former member, House of Representatives, Taofeek Adaranijo, has inaugurated three blocks of classrooms in two primary schools in Agege area of Lagos State.

Adaranijo, who represented Agege Federal Constituency, said that the project was to give children the opportunity to continue to learn in a conducive environment.

Adaranijo said that the future of the country, through children should be paramount in any capacity we were called to serve, especially through education.

The former parliamentarian said that the constituency projects made it the fifth school buildings he facilitated to Agege within four years.

“We owe them solid educational foundation by providing them with the basic facilities for qualitative learning. These projects were awarded two years ago, and completed few months ago; the inauguration was delayed till today due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

“These classrooms aim at reducing the numbers of pupils in the classrooms for better and efficient performance,” Adaranijo said.

Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa commended Adaranijo for his contributions to the education system in Agege Community.

“Giving back to the society or helping people is very important, which will help both young and old politicians to achieve their vision, and young politicians should learn from their leaders.

“We will start to plan on establishing education trust fund for Agege’s children, which leaders such as traditional rulers, market leaders, local government leaders, and public officers will be involved. It will not be a compulsory process; we just want people to have the thought of giving back to the society,” he said.

In his opening remarks, Mr WahabAlawiye-King, Chairman, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), said that they were grateful to Adaranijo for his contributions to education system in his constituency.

Alawiye-King, represented by Mrs Sheriffat Adedoyin, the Permanent Board Member, LASUBEB, said that in spite of the fact that he had left the office, Adaranijo still completed all his projects.

“We want more people in high positions to follow his idea by giving to back to the society because there are available lands for projects. The teachers and students should use the classrooms well for proper assimilation of studies so that they can become good leaders in the future,” he said.
