Fayemi’s wife wants more women in elective positions

The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Bisi Fayemi, has urged more women to contest for elective positions in the 2023 general election.

The governor’s wife lauded a House of Representatives member, Omowumi Ogunlola, representing Ijero/Ekiti West/Efon Federal Constituency, for her outstanding performance.

Fayemi spoke at Aramoko Ekiti where the All Progressives Congress lawmaker donated empowerment items to the constituents across the three local government areas of Ijero, Ekiti West and Efon.

The governor’s wife said, “She is a worthy ambassador of the womenfolk in political positions. Indeed, you have done well and I am very proud of you. We will keep saying we want women in a position of leadership, Hon. Ogunlola is a perfect example of what we mean.

“Thank you very well for not disappointing us. With her sterling performance, more opportunities will be open for women. I will like to call on other members of the green chamber for them to do more for their people because Ogunlola has been a fantastic representative of the people,” she added.

The Ajero of Ijero-Ekiti, Oba Joseph Adewole, who said Ogunlola deserved another term on account of her performance.
