Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, says he is staying off from the affairs of the Peoples Democratic Party, stating that he is old enough to be a statesman in politics.

This comes a day after PDP lost the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress, APC. Fayose spoke while appearing as a guest on ARISE TV.

“From today I stay off PDP, Let me explain this, from party politics. If something is wrong with your family, say it. It’s over for PDP at the federal level, not at the state level, politics is local.”

He also revealed that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar rejected the offer of one term in office to get the G5 governors’ support.

Atiku lost the G5 governors’ states to APC candidate Bola Tinubu who won three, and Labour Party candidate Obi won two states.

“Nobody could call this election until the end of this election. Peter Obi had a good show. I congratulate him. Nigeria has changed. Obi is a phenomenon, an institution, Obi has proved that things are no longer the same. To defeat somebody from nowhere is a great thing. Obi is a light that must shine—-Obasanjo is partisan. Obi is a completely fresh person that Nigerians love. Obi movement is not yet in the north. Obi is the one that should be complaining, not PDP.

“PDP is a fractured party before this election. people were grieved- a political that lost Obi, Kwankwaso, Atiku left PDP, Tambuwal also left, then they all came back when they couldn’t get what they want in APC- they are called Obotes, and all Obotes have to suffer the consequence of their action.

“It’s over for PDP at the federal level, politics is local. The ovation is for Obi, not PDP. I warned the PDP that this problem not being resolved will consume the party. I told Atiku then, Let’s tell the Southerners that you will spend 4 years. But he disagreed.  If something is wrong with your family, say it. ”
