Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has criticized the planned #EndBadGovernance protest, alleging that the organizers have ulterior motives, despite the country’s lingering economic hardship.

Fayose, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, stated that the planned August hardship protest has political dimensions.

He noted that during Buhari’s eight-year tenure, despite similar economic challenges, there were no hunger protests. “Hunger didn’t start one day. This hunger started a long time ago. I didn’t remember any rally,” he said.

Fayose emphasized that no government is perfect and that Nigeria is a difficult country to govern.

He advised giving the current administration a mid-term evaluation rather than calling for its downfall.

“There is no government that is 100%. Nigeria is a very difficult country to govern. If a man is to spend four years, give him a mid-term. The little time cannot be sufficient right now for anybody to say we must bring down the government. Because there must be a motive,” he stated.
