The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Nyesom Wike, announced on Monday night that his administration is planning to reintroduce monthly sanitation in Abuja to maintain cleanliness in the city.
Wike disclosed this information to journalists after a closed-door meeting with contractors responsible for various projects in the FCT.
He stated that he had already discussed the idea with President Bola Tinubu, proposing that two Saturdays each month would be designated for sanitation activities from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Wike further elaborated that this initiative would allow companies assisting the FCT with logistics to visit markets and other public places to remove waste. He emphasized that in order for Abuja to remain clean, everyone must cooperate.
