FG begins emergency repairs on Lagos-Abeokuta road

The Federal Government has commenced emergency repairs on a critical 7 km stretch of the Lagos-Sango-Otta-Abeokuta road, which has suffered from neglect in recent years.

The announcement was made by Uchenna Orji, Special Adviser Media to the Minister of Works.

Orji highlighted the government’s dedication to resolving the infrastructure challenges affecting commuters, stating, “The road has been bad for some time, and the Federal Ministry of Works is bringing relief on the dilapidated sections in conjunction with the concessionaire.”

The repair initiative is part of the broader ‘Operation Free Our Roads’ program aimed at improving federal road conditions across Nigeria.

Orji emphasized, “The Federal Ministry of Works is committed to providing relief to motorists and commuters on all the federal roads nationwide.”

Residents and motorists have long voiced their frustrations regarding the road’s poor condition, which has resulted in increased travel times and safety risks.
