While commissioning a fly-over bridge on Friday, Tinubu alleged that Lagos was headed in the wrong direction under the past administration led by Akinwunmi Ambode.
However, a video has surfaced online that shows the Former Lagos Governor praising the immediate past Governor of the state. In the video, which dates back to 2017, he described Ambode as a brilliant governor and showered him with platitudes.
He expressed gratitude to the governor and also blessed him in the local dialect.
“Whoever wants to do you wrong will be the one to take the fall”, he said in the Yoruba language.
This information has been met with perplexity from Nigerians, as Tinubu seemed to insinuate that Ambode was leading the state in the wrong direction. According to him, this was why he was succeeded by the current governor, Sanwo-Olu.
Tinubu said, “Sometimes in 2017-2018, the ship of this state seems to have headed in a very wrong direction.
“History had it that we came together, an election came and we chose a democratically-elected government of the people, our people, and for the people. They say ‘who is Babajide Sanwo-Olu’? We said you will find out.”
