Former CBN Gov Emefiele to Face Trial Today for Alleged Economic Sabotage

Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is set to face trial today for alleged economic sabotage-related offences.

 

The trial, which was postponed 24 hours ago, will take place at a High Court in Abuja. Emefiele will be arraigned alongside Ramalan Yaro.

The court registrar confirmed that Emefiele will appear in court this morning to enter his plea. His defense lawyer, Maxwell Opara, also confirmed that the notice of arraignment had been served.

Emefiele will be brought to court by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Matthew Burkaa, who signed an undertaking to ensure his presence during the trial.
