Former NFF Technical Director, Kashimawo Laloko is dead

The former Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chief Kashimawo Laloko is dead, and will be buried on Monday at his private residence in Gbonagun area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Franktalknow learnt that, Chairman, Ogun State Football Association(OGSFA),Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi confirmed the demise of Laloko in a condolence statement issued late Sunday, describing the deceased as a diligent and energetic administrator.

The late football administrator  who in his playing days at Abeokuta Grammar School is popularly called ‘Duro Amene’, until his death was the founder of Pepsi Football Academy and holds chieftaincy titles of the first Olori Odan of Egbaland and Olori Parakoyi of Egba land.

Furthermore, Majekodunmi in a statement said the association mourned the death of the renowned former technical director, who contributed immensely to the development of football in Nigeria and beyond.

‘The Ogun State Football Association (OGSFA) has joined the rest of the Football world, particularly the Football family in Nigeria to mourn the death of the Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Director, Chief Pius Kasimawo Laloko’,the statement reads.

‘Late Laloko was a diligent and energetic administrator, who will be greatly missed for his contribution to football development in Nigeria. He will be greatly missed for his wealth of experience that cannot be quantified and for his contributions to football development in Nigeria”.

The statement added that, the Ogun State Football Association also prayed to God to give the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,stressing that, board members and members are in a moment of grief at the passing of the renowned football administrator.

A brother of the deceased, Chief Femi Shodunke in his condolence message pointed out that the late Laloko was a patriotic Nigerian, who meritoriously served his father land both in sports and community, stressing that the world will miss him.

‘He’s a patriotic Nigerian not only in the football circle but community service in his Egbaland where he grew up and retired to after his national service to his fatherland. Indeed, Nigerians will miss him’, Shodunke said

The Baaroyin of Igbeinland also pointed out that, the lovers of soccer, too, have been denied of his (Laloko) wealth of experience, and his unalloyed service to Igbore and Egba – where he’s the Olori Parakoyi will be seriously affected.
