Four people have so far been rescued as a four-storey building collapsed on a bungalow in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The building collapsed at about 6.30 pm on Saturday. So far, there is no record of death although an unascertained number of people are still trapped in the building.
According to the South-South Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Godwin Tepikor, rescue operatives including the fire service and the police are at the scene working towards rescuing the victims.
He said the agency had also got across to Julius Berger for equipment to aid rescue operations.
The South-South Zonal office of the National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the incident and said the building was behind Zenith Bank on Akah Road by Plaza.
