Dr. Olabisi Deji-Folutile, the publisher of Franktalknow, has been inducted into the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP).
The renowned African journalist was officially welcomed into the esteemed group of publishers at GOCOP’s 7th annual conference in Abuja on October 5th. Deji-Folutile resigned as editor, Saturday Punch to start the franktalknow publication.
Other inductees included Adeola Yusuf, the team lead of platform Africa; Peter Oluka, the publisher of Techeconomy; Iduh Onah, the publisher of National Record; Bisi Bamise, the publisher of Bisladnews; Idumonza Isidahinmen, the publisher of OpenLife; and LekanĀ Arowona, the publisher of Royal News.
Also included in the list were Amos Adetunji, the publisher of The Decision makers Online; Udochukwu Onyeka, the publisher of Newsbusiness Nigeria; Abdullateef Jos, the publisher of Solacebase.
During the event, Professor Uche Uwaleke, a capital market expert from Nasarawa State University and Special Adviser to the Senate Committee Chairman on Capital Market, expressed his belief that the struggling Nigerian currency, the naira, would recover and reduce hyperinflation and the hardships faced by the citizens.
He also explained that if Nigeria could cease fuel imports, the cost of fuel could potentially decrease by 54 percent.
This, he said, is because fuel importation accounts for 54 per cent of the fuel price, saying local refining alone ought to shed off this size of cost.
