The Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone Ltd., Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, has revealed that the company defended against over 27 million cyber attacks on its facilities during the 2023 General Elections. This represents a significant increase from the usual 50,000 attacks.
Adeyanju stated that the company’s state-of-the-art security operation centre successfully defended against the attacks, ensuring the protection of government cyberspace.
He also noted that the company monitored its networks across the country and was prepared for the increase in attacks during the protest.
The Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Malam Jibrin Baba-Ndace, visited Galaxy Backbone to deepen the relationship between the two organizations and requested support and capacity building on ICT and cyber security for VON staff.
