Gunmen, suspected to be bandits, have killed at least nine villagers during an attack on Ungwan Dakwa village, in Birnin Gwari Local government area of Kaduna State.
The House of Assembly member-elect for Birnin Gwari State Constituency, Yahaya Birnin Gwari, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, said the victims were killed at about 2 pm on Saturday.

Gwari said some other villagers injured during the attack were rushed to hospitals at neighbouring Funtua in Katsina State for treatment, while most of the villagers fled from their homes due to fear of a fresh attack by the bandits.
The State Police Command has not issued any statement on the incident.
