Aminat Yusuf made history as the first undergraduate in 40 years to graduate with a perfect 5.0 CGPA from the Lagos State University (LASU).
The law student who is the first undergraduate in the institution’s history to get 5.0 CGPA. said her success was due to her dedication and the sacrifices made by her parents.
“I think I was dedicated,” Aminat told one of the interviewers on Your View programme of TVC on Friday.
Aminat, reflecting on her journey, emphasized the pivotal role education played in her family and the sacrifices her parents made to ensure her success.

“Both my parents have really made so much sacrifice. Education seems to be the only thing on their table, other than the basic feeding. Right from the beginning, it was just education. I was not very good in mathematics, but my dad bought every single textbook on maths. He made sure I had every single textbook.
“So they are not very financially buoyant, but they make so many sacrifices. And in a family from that kind of background, we experience some sort of embarrassment that your parents would naturally not deserve. So I just needed to ensure that I didn’t let them down.”
