The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has completed a major upgrade of its electricity infrastructure in the Sango/Ota area of Ogun State, Nigeria, set to improve power supply reliability for over 10,000 customers.
The upgrade includes the migration of the SANGO 33KV feeder to a more robust T3 100MVA, 132KV/33KV transformer at the Ota Transmission Station, as well as the introduction of a new dedicated ROTOCROWN 33KV feeder.
These enhancements aim to cater to the increasing electricity demands and ensure superior service quality for IBEDC customers.
According to IBEDC’s spokesperson, Busolami Tunwase, “These upgrades will enable IBEDC to meet the rising energy needs in the region and provide stable electricity supply to numerous communities.”
The company’s Acting Managing Director, Francis Agoha, emphasized IBEDC’s commitment to service excellence and infrastructure investment, stating, “This upgrade underscores our dedication to enhancing the electricity infrastructure within our operational areas.”
The upgraded transformers at the Ota Transmission Station now support three essential feeders: ROTOCROWN 33KV, TOWER ALLOY 33KV, and SANGO 33KV.

This enhancement is expected to benefit residents of Alishiba, Ilogbo, Bayo Block, Animashaun, and Ewupe, among others. Agoha added, “The increased transformer capacity at the Ota Transmission Station will enable us to meet growing electricity demands and provide a more stable and reliable power supply to our customers in Sango/Ota.”
