A former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has berated students still studying certain courses in the university, describing them as living in the past.

Courses listed as being outdated according to Omokri include Classics, political science, humanities, library science, and sociology.

Twitting via @renoomokri on Tuesday morning, Omokri said, “If you are applying to a university to read classics, political science, humanities, library science, sociology, etc, you are clinging to the past.

“You are like a man buying a video cassette recorder. No matter how much you pass, are still the past.”

Interestingly, some people seemed to agree with Omokri. One of them, @fearlessdataservices said,  “Boss, Just bin my Degree in Political Science.  After entering the system in 100level I was full of joy but in my year 2 to final year, I knew basically we are all political analysts even without studying it.. Those at helm never studied politics in school but on the field.”

Also, @lawanipreciou11 says “These courses are meant for those who don’t even want to crack their brain and study.  They are meant for weak students ….”
