Iganmode day: Gov. Abiodun congratulates Olota, Indigenes

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has felicitated His Majesty, Olota of Otta, Oba Prof. Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, traditional Chiefs and the entire indigenes of Otta and Awori Kingdom on the celebration of 2022 Iganmode Cultural Festival scheduled to hold between 13th and 19th December.

Governor Abiodun, who extended this greeting in a congratulatory letter to the Monarch, described Iganmode Festival as a unique forum for mobilizing the convergence of Ota/Awori sons and daughters for the socio-economic and infrastructural development of Aworiland and Ogun State at large, saying the festival has become a tourist attraction and has been drawing investors into the State.

According to him, the theme of this year’s festival, ” Culture, Communal Security and Patriotism” is aimed at developing Oguns State and mobilizing Aworiland to promote contact and dialogue between generations for intercultural connections”.

The Governor admonished indigenes to utilise the festival to reflect on previous accomplishments with an opportunity to look into the future and hope for new possibilities.

“Kabiyesi, I congratulate you for being the rallying point and motivator of this great festival. Accept my heartfelt appreciation in furthering the good course of Arts, Culture and Tourism”, he stated
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Aare Ayodele Bankole in a statement highlighted the week-long activities of the festival to include traditional prayers, lectures, carnival, paying homage, installation of chieftaincy titles, Jumat prayer, church Thanksgiving and the grand finale, which would be held on the 17th December at the Ansar U Deen College Playground Otta.
