IGP decorates 24 new AIGs (PHOTOS)

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali on Monday, July 26, announced a special initiatives for operatives of the Force named the new Nigeria Police Manpower Development Policy.

Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba made the disclosure in a Press Release on Monday, July 26.

According to Mba, the IGP disclosed the information during the decoration of 24 newly promoted Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIG’s) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The Manpower Development Policy, which according to the IGP, is one of a kind seeks to identify, elevate and position professional Police officers who will act as the strategic Police Managers.

Also, the new initiative announced by Usman Baba will take into cognizant, the welfare of the Police officers, which would be geared towards optimizing rewards and better enumeration packages for the Police in an attempt for them to deliver top notch services.

Meanwhile, as regards the newly decorated AIG’s, the IGP congratulated the Police officers and charged them to use their vast knowledge and experience to support his leadership mission.

“He also encouraged the officers to discharge the schedules of their new rank within the dictates of the law and the policing expectations of the citizens, ” the statement added.

In his closing remarks, Usman Baba Alkali expressed his gratitude President Muhammadu Buhari, for consistently committing to the Nigeria Police reform Agenda. He also thanked the Police Service Commission (PSC), for their support.

Some Prominent Nigerians who attended the Decoration Ceremony include; the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammed Maigari Dingyadi, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Musa Bello, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faru Yahaya, Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, MFR, mni, NPOM, Members of the Force Management Team, Traditional Leaders, amongst others.
