The federal polytechnic, Ilaro has placed a ban on the sign out celebration of final year students inside the polytechnic premises.
Sign out activities which include writing of all sort of words, signs, initials, amongst others on a plain white Polo or T-shirt of graduating students by their colleagues, friends, and well wishers as a form of felicitating with them on the completion of their final exams whether at HND or ND level has been put to an halt.
This development however, was contained in a circular made available to students of the instruction by the directorate of students affairs(DSA) on the late hours of Tuesday.

Information contained in the circular reads thus ” NOTICE TO ALL STUDENTS
In view of the prevailing security situations in the neighborhood there will be NO END-OF-EXAM CELEBRATION (SIGNING-OUT) ON CAMPUS.
Students are therefore advised to go to their respective hostels/residence immediately after their examinations. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. THANK YOU. SIGNED DSA”
However, this development has sprouted lots of reactions amongst students whereby some have condemned the act to be inappropriate and infringement on rights of students to social life and activities.
