The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will conduct voter registration at Lagos State University (LASU).
The exercise will run for three days, starting from Wednesday to Friday, at three locations on the institution’s main campus.
Registration will begin from 9 am daily at all three locations – senior staff quarters, the hall of the faculty of education, and the students’ arcade.
The decision followed a meeting between Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, LASU vice-chancellor, and Olusegun Agbaje, resident electoral commissioner in Lagos State.
The exercise, according to the vice-chancellor, is in determination to “make the registration and validation of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) exercise convenient for members of Lagos State University community and residents of the environs”.
Medical students at LASU college of medicine earlier held a voter registration drive at the institution’s Ikeja campus.
This was organised in conjunction with INEC and other relevant agencies, with over 300 students and staff said to have benefited from the exercise.
