The Federal Government’s N500 billion palliative is a controversial topic, with many people questioning whether it is reasonable.

Recall that to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal, Nigeria’s Government seeks a loan of $800,000,000 from the World Bank.
This “safety net” fund is to be disbursed to 12 million low income households over a period of 6 months, at a sum of N8,000 ($10) per month.
That amounts to 52 Naira ($0.065) per day for each member of a family of five.
