Women Political Leaders, WPL, has named Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili as its new board chairman.
Ezekwesili succeeds Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and now Chair Emeritus of the board.

WPL aims to increase the number, influence, and impact of women in political and leadership positions worldwide.
The organization is the first to be founded by thousands of female political leaders from over 130 countries.
Heads of state and government, ministers, parliamentarians, and local and regional politicians are among the members.
“It is an honour to serve as Chair of the WPL Board,” Ezekwesili said in reaction to the appointment.
