“You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time. After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer. I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world.

After a dismal four-year stint with Real Madrid, when he failed to live up to his high price tag, Hazard announced his retirement. The Belgian moved after making a name for himself with Chelsea in the Premier League, where he scored 110 goals in 352 games and helped the Blues win two titles.

With 15+ goals and 15+ assists in a single season, Hazard is one of just four players in Premier League history to accomplish this feat.
