The Lagos State University Community was thrown into sorrow on Thursday after a former student and LASU Student Union aspirant, Yussuf Nurudeen, popularly known as Omomewaa was reportedly shot dead around the campus premises.
The former Social Director, Nafiu Hamid, popularly known as BokoHalal confirmed the incident to AF24news correspondent.
Sources revealed that Omomewaa had certain challenges with the school over admission racketeering.
When AF24news contacted the head of LASU Centre for Information Press and Public Relations, Mr Ademola Adekoya, he said details were still scanty.
Adekoya said Facebook posts by mourners revealed that Omomewaa’s assailants who are still unknown, also shot dead a LASU member of staff.
Ademola said the Security Investigation Unit of LASU, SIU have begun investigating the deaths.
Meanwhile, Comrade Arotile Affluence told AF24news that he still spoke with the deceased on Wednesday who told him that he was heading for LASU for a hearing with the LASU Student Disciplinary Panel.
Arotile said he does not believe Omomewaa is dead.
