Victor Osimhen’s second-half equaliser against Udinese sealed Napoli’s first Scudetto title in 33 years.

The Nigerian, leading the race for the Italian Serie A golden boot, netted in the 52nd minute to cancel Sandi Lovric’s first-half strike, a goal that sent fans into raptures in Naples.

The runaway league leaders had a chance to kick off their Scudetto celebrations on Sunday at home against Salernitana, but a 1-1 draw kept them waiting.

Heading into Thursday’s game, Napoli knew a draw would see them clinch the Scudetto and travelled to Udinese to cement their history.

But they had to come from behind as Sandi Lovric’s strike found the top right corner 13 minutes in before Victor Osimhen’s equaliser sent the awaiting streets of Naples wild.

The title charge has been inspired in particular by the seasons enjoyed by attacking duo Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who helped edge them closer to the league title the city has craved for over three decades.

It is also the first Serie A title for head coach Luciano Spalletti.
