JUST IN: UI Students Protest Electricity Rationing, Total Fee Reversal, Others

Students of the University of Ibadan have taken to the streets to express their displeasure with the school management’s decision to ration electricity supply, among other issues affecting them.

The protest, which started on Tuesday night, has continued into Wednesday, with students marching across the campus, calling for more to join the struggle.

According to sources, the protest began at the Zik-Indy axis and has since extended to Awo, with protesters now heading towards halls of residence in the SUB arena.

The crowd, which moved through Bello Hall towards Kuti Hall and Trenchard Hall, chanted slogans and called on more students to join the protest.

The protesters are demanding an end to the 10-hour maximum electricity supply announced by the school management, among other issues. The school premises are currently filled with noise and shouts from the protesting students.
