Speaking through his lead counsel, Alloy Ejimakor, Kanu conveyed his desire for negotiations after presenting two applications before the court.

The first application pertains to a motion filed under form 49, while the second is an application objecting to the jurisdiction of the court.

However, Justice Binta Nyako responded by stating that the court’s role is not to act as a solicitor but to hear cases presented before it.

Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since June 2021, following his arrest in Kenya. He currently faces terrorism-related charges brought against him by the Federal Government.
