But faulting the claim of the police, Ujaja the school director speaking to Arise News said the explosion was not from a gas cylinder but a suicide bomber.

“It was not a gas explosion. It was a suicide bomber and we saw him. So, that is the fact. But God intervened”.

Confirming the director’s claim, a class teacher said, “After our assembly in the morning, I was in the class teaching the students, all of a sudden we heard a sound and on reaching here, we saw the explosion and some dead bodies”.

“We were hearing from the news that the government said it was a gas explosion but from what we saw and the sound we heard, it was an explosion from a bomb blast,” he added.

Diverse controversies have trailed the explosion as the government is still insisting it was a gas explosion.
