I recently came across a nasty and provoking report where the so-called Festus Keyemo warned Pastors to stop dabbling into politics stating that Pastors are only to talk about heaven. I was startled, but I suddenly realized that it was a stupid statement from a stupid and idiotic fellow. To Keyamo, PFN and CAN have no business talking politics nor have the right to criticize the decisions of the ruling party whether or not such decisions are retrogressive, demonic, and detrimental to the Corporate existence of Nigeria.
First, I like to educate Keyamo and his cohorts with the same mentality that politics is an exclusive preserve of certain individuals. I find it difficult to rationalize such a senseless and crazy school of thought.
Christians are part and parcel of society and as such, whatever affects society automatically affects them.  Why then would any right-thinking person trade the idea that Pastors should not talk about politics, an issue that affects them directly? How can you be dancing a crazy dance in a compound we both live in, and you are saying I should close my eyes, and my mouth, I should not see, and I should not talk even when you are disturbing my peace? We are not in a banana Republic, but a democratic system of government where we all have the freedom of speech, and very sadly, this is coming from someone who claims to be a lawyer, one who should know about the constitutional rights of individuals.
Keyamo also stupidly said that all that the Pastors are confined to do is to talk only about going to heaven, That is to suggest that God is not concerned with earthly government.
In as much as I have no intention to make this conversation a Bible class, permit me to refer to the scripture, the book of Proverbs 14:34, which says, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” This scripture clearly establishes the fact that God wants his people to be governed by the ” Righteous” and not the sons and daughters of ” Disobedience”. To further buttress this point, let’s take a quick look at the book of Romans 13:1. It says, “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.”
This means that God is not only interested in government, but He is the one that uses His people to establish governments.  In other words, one of the major responsibilities of Pastors is to ensure that their nation is governed by the right people by talking politics, but should they fail to do that, the devil takes over just as we have in our hands today with the likes of Keyamo in government. Certainly, God did not ordain this government, hence, people like Keyamo feel threatened when the children of God talk about politics.
We all have a stake in this country. Today, the life of the people is threatened with high-level insecurity, and poverty, it could even grow worse that even the gospel that should take the people to heaven cannot be preached, how then could Pastors stay aloof, fold arms, and legs, and just watch the country driven to hell by certain individuals like Keyamo?
In the first instance, who does Keyamo think he is, is it because he is opportune to be a junior Minister in a failed government? Why not if not, a dullard, an ignoramus, and a charlatan? In a wrong society, everything goes wrong, as though, it’s normal.
How could someone like Keyamo carry the honor of a SAN? A charge and Bail lawyer who never won any significant case in his legal career and decided to hide his failure in the murky waters of Nigerian politics. Who is Keyamo to warm Pastors?
I want to give  Keyamo a serious warning to stop talking to Pastors and shut up his dirty mouth. He should be wise enough to know that it is stupid and foolhardy for a man who lives in a glass house to start a war by throwing stones. Pastors, to say the least, are morally required, legally justified, and in Faith mandated to talk politics and decide who governs them and of course, how best they should be governed.
